The Matura Quarry Reforestation
On Saturday 27th July the employees of Ansa Mcal as well as volunteers from the community of Matura took up the sustainability challenge by participating in the annual forest rehabilitation program. Together the group was able to replant 763 trees of various species that are indigenous to the area.
In the heart of Matura Quarry, a remarkable transformation is taking place. This quarry has been mined for decades and is now witnessing a new kind of activity. The goal is to restore the land to its natural state, making it a thriving eco system once more.
Volunteers from all over the Ansa McAL Group as well as volunteers from the community came together united by one common goal.
More than 7 acres of land have been reforested by the group and the impact of these efforts is already visible with new life beginning to flourish. This project has truly become a community effort with schools, local businesses and families all getting involved.
The IWECO Project

This initiative perfectly align with the sustainability goals of the group and addords a continuous way to give back to the nevironment and partner with the community.
